Background
The Carrington Blake Group one of the top recruitment agency in London came to Netgains with the idea of providing top notch directory & bidding services to all individuals and companies in UK. They required the user to be able to create project listing, submit projects and get benefited from backend controlled banner advertising. Quote Synergy today is an internet business platform that enables users to find suppliers of services or goods that compete to win their business. Our client wanted to offer opportunity to individuals to easily start their online business by creating and promoting franchise websites in variety of sectors like health, beauty, mechanical or whatever interests an individual. They were looking not only for a bidding platform but also serve advertisers who want to collectively promote their business in diversified advertising online channels.
Challenge
Major challenge in the development of Quotesynegy was to synchronize the admin created franchise website with the main website as both the versions were sharing the same database and code required to be in-sync. Additionally the project scope also involved database migration from the old website which was using an MSSQL database to MySQL database of the new PHP avatar given by Netgains.
Solution
We were very excited about the project because of the goodness of the overall business idea and detailed specification provided to us by the client. Today, there are thousands of users using Quotesynergy daily to open themselves up to more business choices and enhance their online presence.
For database migration, our development team created PHP scripts to squeeze data from old MSSQL database and feed into the new MYSQL database. |
